Apparently, We Have Our Own Website Now 😂

Hey there. 👋

So, you found the new home of Lilac Earth.

And I'm really glad you're here.

Lilac Earth is a small, independent makeup business. There's no giant team behind the scenes. It's mostly me making the products, packing the orders, answering the emails, updating the website, photographing things, writing the descriptions, and doing approximately seventeen other jobs before lunch.

My husband helps out behind the scenes too, so while Lilac Earth is very much my little business, I'm not doing absolutely everything alone.

So when you place an order directly through this website, I notice.

And it makes a real difference.

So... Why Do We Have Our Own Website?

Well.

We left Etsy.

For years, Lilac Earth sold on Etsy, and Etsy was an important part of the business. A lot of you found me there, and I'm genuinely grateful for that.

But eventually, Etsy became more work than it was worth.

Their automated systems started deactivating listings, sometimes without making much sense. And getting things sorted out could mean waiting weeks for a human review, writing explanations, submitting information, and repeatedly proving that, yes, I actually make the products I'm selling.

I understand why Etsy needs systems in place to protect buyers and enforce its policies. They have millions of listings to manage, and automated tools are obviously part of that.

But here's the thing.

My time is limited.

I don't want to spend hours proving that Lilac Earth is, in fact, Lilac Earth.

I want to spend those hours making makeup.

And eventually, the latest round of deactivations was the straw that broke the camel's back.

I fucking had it.

So Lilac Earth left Etsy.

Not because I suddenly decided marketplaces are terrible. And definitely not because I enjoy writing essays to robots.

I had simply reached the point where I knew I needed a place I could actually control.

So I built one.

Apparently, We Have Our Own Website Now

This website is now the home of Lilac Earth.

And honestly?

I like it here.

There are no competing shops sitting beside mine. No marketplace clutter. No trying to squeeze Lilac Earth into somebody else's system.

Just the makeup, the colours, the weird little ideas that pop into my head, and the people who actually want to be here.

I can decide what gets made.

I can decide what gets discontinued.

I can launch a ridiculous new shade because I think it's gorgeous.

I can change things when something isn't working.

And I can spend my time talking to actual customers instead of arguing with a robot about whether I make my own products.

That's worth a lot to me.

Your purchase helps pay for ingredients, packaging, equipment, shipping supplies, website costs, and all the other gloriously unglamorous stuff required to keep this little business running.

And it helps me keep making new things.

More colour. More experiments. More ridiculously pretty makeup.
