Hey. I'm Kathy, and Lilac Earth is my little corner of the internet where I get to make colourful makeup that I actually want to wear.

Lilac Earth started with a simple idea: makeup doesn't have to be boring.

I love colour. I love experimenting. I love finding that completely ridiculous shade that somehow ends up being the one you reach for constantly. And I really like making things with my own hands.

So that's what Lilac Earth is about.

Colourful makeup. Interesting shades. Good products. No beige required.

Apparently, We Like Colour

Lilac Earth is an independent Canadian makeup brand based in Saskatchewan.

You'll find vegan eyeshadows, blushes, pigments and other colourful things here, with a particular fondness for shades that aren't afraid to be noticed.

Some are subtle. Some are absolutely not.

I don't believe every makeup product needs to be practical, neutral, or designed to disappear into the background. Sometimes you want a beautiful everyday shade. Sometimes you want something purple enough to make you question your life choices.

Both are valid.

So, Who Actually Makes This Stuff?

Mostly me.

I make the products, develop and choose the colours, photograph them, write the listings, pack the orders, answer the emails, maintain the website, keep track of supplies and do approximately seventeen other jobs that nobody puts on the business card.

My husband helps out behind the scenes too, so while Lilac Earth is very much my little business, I'm not doing absolutely everything alone.

There isn't a giant team in a warehouse somewhere.

It's just a small independent business, a ridiculous number of tiny jars, and me trying to make things people will genuinely enjoy using.

Why Colour?

Because colour is fun.

That's really it.

Makeup can be polished and wearable, but it can also be playful. It can change your mood. It can make you feel more like yourself. It can be the tiny purple eyeshadow you put on for absolutely no reason other than you wanted purple eyeshadow.

I don't think makeup needs to follow a bunch of rules.

Wear one colour. Wear five. Make it subtle. Make it weird. Match your lipstick to nothing. Put purple on your eyelids on a Tuesday morning.

You do you.

What Makes Lilac Earth Different?

I'm not interested in making hundreds of nearly identical shades just to fill a catalogue.

I'd rather make a smaller collection of colours that are actually interesting.

I'm also not interested in telling you that you need a complicated seventeen-step routine to look good.

Buy the ridiculous eyeshadow.

Wear it.

Have fun.

That's about as complicated as I think makeup needs to be.

Apparently, We Have Our Own Website Now 😂

After years of selling on Etsy, Lilac Earth now lives here.

That change was not exactly part of some beautifully organized five-year business plan. Let's just say Etsy and I eventually reached the point where we were no longer good for each other.

So here we are.

And honestly?

I like it here.

This is where I can decide what Lilac Earth becomes, what gets made, what gets discontinued, and what ridiculous colour I want to try next.

No marketplace clutter. No trying to squeeze the business into somebody else's system.

Just Lilac Earth.
